Fooding
After putting it off for weeks and months, finally made it to dim sum with Kristina and her friends and colleagues. NBC Seafood is always a solid staple and today was no exception. Happy to have good ngau paak yip (beef tripe) and all the rest of the staples-- and for once the deep fried shrimp ball came out early!
Back to 626 that evening for dinner at T-KEBOB with Doug. Unlike Fei Xiang Gong, this was disappointing... skewers felt skimper than they should have been. They had a good variety but that did not make up for the sizing/cuts of meat. And holy crap the cucumber and wood ear mushroom salad was spicy. Doug and I can both handle heat but that was legit spicy to the point we didn't want to finish. Ended up at One Zo for taro milk lattes and egg waffle to kill the burn, which had the side benefit of letting us stop by the brand-new Hong Kong Cafe location at Atlantic Times Square as well.
Hong Kong Cafe is way over the top in styling, but they were busy, and the hot milk tea to go, while nothing special, did the trick.
