Singapore
Basically 24 hours from Sydney to Singapore, aka the crazy insanity of status chasing. Upgrade squeaked by at the gate, a few minutes before boarding (woohoo!).
Being one of the very last passengers upgraded into Polaris, did not get the best choice of meals, but fortunately the flat iron steak was one dish I had yet to try, so I was fine with that. It was quite dead, but somehow was just (barely) still tender enough to be acceptable. Also once onboard, got sold by the flight attendant (as did some of the other passengers in the Polaris cabin) on the Whispering Angel 2022 Rose... sadly I was disappointed. I know high altitude changes taste perceptions a little bit, but it was lacking in both character and complexity. Was not plain, but was definitely not appealing.
Managed to pass on the ice cream, but did grab the buratta for a mid-flight snack later; it may not be bad when served at dinner, but a few hours layer it was not so great as it'd been out too long and the texture had definitely lost its appeal.
