Mammoth
Not too much skiing for me the last two days of the trip, but got in a few runs on Wednesday morning, and crucially, got out on Thursday morning before we left to take full advantage of the fresh snow that was falling all day. All the snow on Thursday meant the top was closed, and some warm temps the days before meant hard snow and ice under some runs, but as a last (planned) day of the season, it was a solid day.
Meals the last two days were the mound of leftovers we had, including adobo and prime rib, and we managed to finish most of the food.
The drive back involved a stop at Erick Schat's Baakery for bread, then skipping the ridiculous sandwich line there for equally good sandwiches at Mahogany Smoked Meats just up the road. The regular sandwiches there are just okay, but the "favorites" sandwiches there are loaded with meat and are delicious.
Caught a bit of rain and a rainbow before dropping off Chris and Siva, then elected to grab dinner at Siri Thai Cuisine instead of sitting in more traffic. It's very decent Thai food, nothing special, but portions were ample, and live music seems to be their local claim to fame. Managed to arrive in time for happy hour pricing so grabbed a calamari in addition to a large tom yum soup with shrimp (well worth the couple of bucks extra). The som thum with shrimp was also unexpectedly massive-- ended up with a ton of food.
