Mammoth
Coverage on the mountain is rapidly getting worse compared to the last trip not-quite-two weeks ago, with significant bare patches over at Mill Cafe on Stump Alley... but what the heck, still great to have this much of the mountain open, let alone be open at all in July. Even the top is rapidly melting, conditions on Cornice were a bit bumpy as the snow suffers even with the reduced crowds in the summer.
Late lunch at Noodle-ly, which is still surprisingly legit for Asian noodles all the way in the boonies that are the Eastern Sierras. Khao soi, chicken noodle, char siu noodle are all very solid, and a great addition to the food scene in Mammoth. Did happy hour at Shelter Distilling as well, the beers are solid but didn't quite score as well as Mammoth Brewing, but at least the kitchen is faster. Pretzel bun was good but not worth the money, shisito peppers and cheese curds both were excellent. And who knew they had a back patio??
