Luxembourg
Started the day with a food tour, which proved to be an excellent way to start the day. Local cold meat pies that have a jelly in them (Rieslingspaschteit), some history along with a stroll on the Adolphe Bridge (Pont Adolphe), then Lisanto ham and local riesling at Brasserie Guillaume. Some more history, then a series of very short walks between the remaining stops on the tour: Kaempff-Kohler for quiche and some sort of ginger drink, followed by a delicious bacon cream dumplings (kniddelen) at Haerz. Final stop was Genaveh Chocolate, which had a very rich hot chocolate and a variety of chocolate truffles that proved to be a hit back home (might have brought back a few boxes...).
After the food tour, headed over to the Grand Ducal Palace for a few photos, then the Casemates du Bock, a historic series of tunnels and fortifications essential to Luxembourg's defenses over the years. Did not think ahead do a tour, but the views and the tunnels are quite extensive, so still time well-spent, even if I am sure I missed a bunch of the significance. The beautiful weather certainly didn't hurt, and definitely made it hard to take a bad picture.
Had a relaxing walk back, although I skipped the Grund (the lower town) due to time constraints. The National Monument of the Solidarity, Supreme Court, and National Archives were all right in the same area, and somewhere in there I ended up at Luxorino for dinner. The sandwiches were nothing special, being a massive piece of focaccia and not enough meat, but they were tasty enough to do the job.
