Early morning arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) was a bit rough, but managed to clear customs and immigration in less than 5 minutes after arrival (woohoo!), and had time to catch that much-belated shower at the Polaris Lounge after. Breakfast, even at United's international business class lounge, was a massive downgrade from the hotel's breakfast the past few days, but made do with a very terrible waffle and some so-so fried chicken. Had to offset the bacon and stuff with a bowl of oatmeal as well (yay for getting old).
Caught a decent photo or two inside the lounge as the morning flights took off, then boarded another tired old United airplane, this time a Boeing 757-300, for the final flight of the trip. The shakshuka served by United in domestic first class bears very little relation to actual shakshuka (sigh), but at least the last flight of the trip, like the very first flight of the trip, had some great views out the window. Not just fluffy clouds this time but a lovely tour of the Grand Canyon before crossing into California.
A throughly enjoyable trip if definitely not my usual vacation style.
