Actually got to the airport earlier than expected, so had time to hit United's Polaris Lounge at LAX for breakfast. Then much to my surprise had a full service hot breakfast on the not-quite-three hour long flight to Houston (George Bush Intercontinental Airport). United's thai sweet chili beef noodles are best described as uneven, the cold beef is usually pretty good and served pleasantly medium rare, but in today's casr the noodle portion was downright tiny.
Had some beautiful fluffy clouds on the way, then an unexpected meeting with MG Guerra, one of United Airlines' very top customers and a wonderful human being doing a ton of work to save Ukrainian refugees (#1 in segments flown annually, and has helped thousands escape the Russian invasion). That brief meeting with celebrity between work calls filled in pretty much my entire layover at IAH, then it was off to Sao Paolo on board a United 787-9 Dreamliner.
Somehow United managed to make the same piece of chicken half-dry-awful on one side and half-moist-tasty on the other, maybe a special talent of airplane galley ovens? The salad was basic but an actual green salad, and the shrimp were massive if a bit salty. The ice cream sundae was kind of sad, they're still using cheap-*ss chocolate syrup instead of hot fudge. Sigh. #firstworldproblems
