Vegas to Kansas Roadtrip 2010
For SEMA photos, check out day 1 and day 2.
Talked to Volk, KW, Stoptech, and a few others, plus Whiteline, Motordyne, and a few others over the two days we spent at SEMA.
After a few quick hours at SEMA in the morning, it was time to start the roadtrip!
In-n-Out for lunch, then we drove on into Arizona. Crossing the new Mike O'Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge (aka Hoover Dam Bypass) was actually disappointing, as the guardrails are solid conrete and you can't see anything! We'd hoped to make the Grand Canyon before dark, but we spent a few more hours at SEMA than planned today and next thing we know, it's the turnoff for the Grand Canyon (62 miles to go)-- and it's been dark for a while already. CRAP.Missed some awesome meteor craters too, 'cause it was dark. Next time we know-- cross Arizona in daylight.
We pushed on to Flagstaff, noticed we were at 7,000+ feet of elevation, and maybe that was why it'd dropped 20F+ in the past 15 minutes to 38F. Brrrrr. Had dinner at Criollo, a surprisingly good Latin place, and then crashed for the night in Gallup, New Mexico. Basically right on an Indian reservation... some of the motels were a bit scary but we found the Best Western was actually semi-decent. *whew*
