Europe
Uneventful flight to London, including a decidedly aim-low new United x Chefs' Table collaboration menu where shortrib seemed to have been done in a way specifically to make it hard to screw up on an airplane (and hello garlic breath!). Then a quick catch-up with Sam over lunch at Cloth, a very British experience, down to the perfectly fried chips and some superb duck.
Sam then had to run back to work, while I trekked over to my hotel in Piccadilly Circus. I had forgotten this was right by Chinatown, involving a quick pass by where Harry Potter is playing, a HeyTea (just as good in the UK as it is in the USA and Asia), and then the dramatically styled lobby of the Moxy Piccadilly Circus. Rooms were a stark contrast to the lobby, tiny and many even window-less, which made me feel happy I'd splurged for a room with an exterior window.
Did some work, went on a run, realized late it was well past dinnertime. With Chinatown right next door, but the late hour meaning selection was a bit limited, ended up at a Korean restaurant called Jumak39 for dinner. The shrimp mandu were legit, cucumber kimchi was a bit soft, the army stew seemed a tad overcooked. Still, it was full of Koreans, and appeared to be a fashionable place for a meal. Had I more stomach space I might have gone for kbbq, but alas...
