Europe
Making the time to visit a few more countries in Eastern Europe. Kind of annoying to get to from the west coast, especially due to United's very limited non-stop options to Europe from Los Angeles, but eh, made it work. Decided to go through London to visit Sam both on the way in as well as the way out, although in retrospect could have been more aggressive with the schedule and avoided overnight layovers in London on both ends.
Poland is very easy to visit, Serbia is equally easy, but definitely had some coordinating/decisions to be made on airports, especially for the latter, when connecting through London. Getting deeper into Eastern Europe might be a little more interesting, although I suspect it's actually all pretty easy, and the flights are all relatively short, too.
Days 1/2: flying to London, trying out the new Chefs' Table collaboration meal, then catching up with Sam over excellent duck at Cloth.
Day 3: off to Warsaw, a short but effective afternoon tour of both the old town and the (still very old and historic) new town.
Day 4: super quick flight from Warsaw to Belgrade in the midst of a heat wave in Serbia, followed by a great tour of their old town and fortress.
Day 5: gave up on the long and slow (and free!) bus to the airport, a short and cramped flight to London, then the Star Trek 60 at the Science Museum, dinner at Cyprus Mangal, and finally gelato.
Day 6: proper English breakfast before enjoying some beautiful views of Greenland on the return home.
