Providence
One of the longer days of flying I've had in a while, starting Sunday morning in Singapore (15 hours, 8,449 miles) earlier, and now continuing on from San Franccisco International Airport via a shiny new Airbus A321neo to ORD, then a much older airplane from Chicago O'Hare to Providence (T. F. Green International Airport).
United's new first class product, based off the Safran Z600 seat, looks quite nice and comfortable, but the under-seat storage is not great, being particularly tight in the vertical dimension. Naturally my upgrade did not go through, but I still got to experience the lack of under-seat storage due to my bulkhead row seat in economy. The bulky airbag-equipped seat belts were annoying at first but you got used to them pretty quickly, the screens are nice and big with multiple charging ports at the screen/seat, 12 inch screens with United's finally-competitive, latest-generation in-flight maps, and the typical lame 3 inches of recline.
Nothing too exciting as far as food or drink or service, but things were on-time and the connection from ORD to PVD was the usual busy but on-time. The final flight of the day to Providence was one of United's old Airbus A319's, a much less nice than the shiny new A321neo from an hour before. However for a sub-2-hour flight marking the end of a day that involved more than 11,00+ miles of flying, I wasn't complaining.
Hopped on a quick rideshare to the hotel (later found out I could have taken the bus for $2 and about the same amount of time, oops), had a final meal in a box for the day, and called it a night. Hoping for existence outside of an airplane or airport tomorrow, along with food not served pre-packaged out of a box.
