Finally found a good meal at Wicked Cup in Jasper. Breakfast definitely did the trick, with tasty pancakes, and it looked like Ants enjoyed his breakfast burrito. The Coca-Cola Quebec Maple, on the other hand, was more like a hit of maple on the nose, then ordinary Coke in the middle, then a maple after-taste? Not sure it was worth the trouble in the end, but still good to try.
A pair of beautiful elk were grazing off the highway on the way out of Jasper. Almost didn't stop-- Ants had gottens some great pictures earlier in the trip-- but these had antlers that practically shone in the sunlight, so I couldn't resist the opportunity for more photos.
Last stop of the trip was Chartier, just south of Edmonton, for their indulgent breakfast poutine. Don't really want to think about how many calories it involved, but with bacon and a poached egg... mmmmmmmmm. Might have to come back again in the future, although the dessets might be a skip as the verrine was overly sweet and the creme brulee caramelized crust was too thick.
Easier flights on the return, Edmonton to Vancouver, then Vancouver to Los Angeles. Air Canada works their 737 MAX 8's hard and it was a pretty smooth operation back... which definitely beat the massive several hour delay that Ants had on Flair Airlines on his return. o_0 I guess paying extra for Air Canada might actually have been worth it? 0_o (never thought I'd say that based on previous experiences with Air Canada!)
