Breakfast again at the Waldorf was quite good, had a rather decent sunrise (in Edinburgh of all places), then headed off to the airport, said goodbye to Sam, and we both stuffed our butts back into airplanes home.
At least my upgrade went through on the return from Edinburgh to New York, and while United's business class isn't anything special, their business class lounge in New York is best-in-class for a US domestic carrier's lounge in the continental United States. COVID-19 severely impacted operations but they're clearly doing their best to bring things back, and aside from the hot food in the buffet being a tad more limited than before, overall it felt fairly close to the pre-pandemic experience.
