Singapore: May 2019
First stop in Singapore didn't even involve leaving the airport: the new Jewel at Changi is proof that Singapore is a crazy place. Not content to do something commonplace like as building a nice shopping mall at an airport, or building an arboretum (which Changi Airport already has a few), Singapore decided to not only combine the two, but to top off the whole affair with a five story tall waterfall. With a Vegas-style light show.
Second stop was Marina Bay Sands, to soak in the views only possible from a triple skyscraper with a rooftop pool. The harbor in the background and Gardens by the Bay in the foreground, with the Supertree Grove glowing brightly in the center at night. Well worth the effort if you haven't seen it before. Especially before you descend back to ground level to try and run 5K in the heat and humidity that dominates (even at 11pm). Also, don't let the nearly-empty photo of Marina Bay Sands' Infinity pool fool you, as it was packed from just about every other angle.
