Myanmar (Burma): January 2017
t'was a long two days to get to Phuket, at least if you count all the time changes.
The new United Club at LAX is gorgeous and huge, easily one of the best domestic clubs for regular passengers. That said, food is still limited, and yes, it's going to get crowded at times. Usual flight to SFO and then onto an old Boeing 747-400 doing one of its last few months of service with United. At least some of the seats in Economy Plus aren't too bad for the 12 hour haul to ICN.
Seoul Incheon International Airport is lauded by many as amazing, and it's definitely up there, with high ceilings, massive OLED displays, multiple food courts and lounges with an attached hotel, nap areas, and I think I even saw a grand piano! The Asiana Club in the main terminal is huge, although a bit too dimly lit for my taste, and the food reminded me of United's-- just snacks, had to visit a food courts for a real meal.
An old-but-not-quite-as-old Airbus A330 on Asiana for the final flight of the day to HKT. Something like six hours more at the end of a long day (complete with a past-midnight-arrival in Phuket), but at least it was smooth, and while my memory is fuzzy, I think they fed us, too.
