Guantanamo Bay: May 2016
Tons of new construction at LAX greeted me-- hope that means good things are in store! Had a bit of a clusterf*** with the boarding lines at the gate (thanks, indifferent gate agents), but once boarded everything was excellent.
United's BusinessFirst product definitely does not compare to their competitors. It's a 2-4-2 product on the 777, but at least the screens are big and the video selection is finally quite decent. Plus the food and service were both surprisingly good for a domestic airline. The concept of attentive service and food that looks edible from a domestic airline, crazy!
Had a solid second flight on a regional jet from IAD to JAX later too. Boarded via stairs instead of a jetway, which was a bit of a throwback, but the gorgeous weather in DC meant it was actually quite pleasant!
Finally met up with Dad in Jacksonville, had a crappy ribeye at Millhouse Steakhouse, and on to the second morning of too little sleep and far too early a wake-up...
