Florida 2011: Day 4: Miami
Fort Pierce, Jupiter, and Blowing Rocks Preserve, plus a stop by Waffle House, by lunchtime. Blowing Rocks is a darker sand beach with, well, a "blowhole" type of rock, but it was low tide when we arrived. Also, not nearly as spectacular as the one in Oahu! Jupiter is one of the most expensive areas to live in in the whole country and, heck, even if it is, and even if it deserves the title, it's a pretty boring looking place to me.
Waffle House is, well, Waffle House. A little cultural experience, very friendly employees, ice cold A/C inside.
Down to Hollywood to meet up with Sam's friends, Liz and her husband John, then down to Little Haiti and South Beach to wander around Lincoln Blvd, before dinner at Laura's Cuban in Hollywood. That would turn out to be the one good meal of the trip. Good food is hard to find in Florida. :-/
Managed to make it back to Orlando in about three hours flat. The Florida Turnpike is empty at this time of night. $13.70 well spent.
