Leaving Houston
Got up butt-early to make it to the airport, beating the morning commute rush by about 5 (very important!) minutes.
Made it early to Phoenix, but the flight out of Phoenix was late. What did that mean for me? It meant I had time for a second breakfast! Woohoo!
Turned out to be a good thing, 'cause that afternoon I had a 20 mile training run scheduled. Mike and I headed down to Palos Verdes for a change of scenery, then ran from PV to Redondo Beach and back. Beautiful run, and by our standards, it was fast for such a long run at 9:46/mile. o_0
After running 20.75 miles, we were starving, so we headed to Kotosh for Peruvian-Japanese food. Mmmmmmmmm tasty! Peruvian-Japanese sushi is never all that great, but this wasn't bad, and the beef chaufa was quite good, and the ceviche mixto, while not amazing, was pretty good compared to other places in the USA. Nom nom!
Chill Out Lounge for pearl tea to wrap up what was a 20 or 21 hour day for me by the time I'd finished... crazy...
