Mileage Running
With yesterday's delays putting a big kink in this weekend's mileage run, at least the second half of the mileage run was smooth. The crew of today's UA 152 requested I bring donuts, so picked those up on the way to the airport, then had a great flight with Purser Rajneeta, Captain Jeffery, Captain Rob, and the rest. With my upgrade just squeaking through at the gate, ended up with some horribly overcooked beef sirloin for lunch, but that was okay-- having flown LAX-HKG, HKG-LAX just 12 hours ago, was happy to eat, chat, and then about halfway through the flight, sleep.
United 152 was a bit late to Hong Kong due to some problems with the jetbridge in Los Angeles, so had just enough time on arrival to hit the food court, have an entirely adequate meal of roast goose, char shu, and won ton noodle soup at Tasty Congee and Noodle Wantun shop, then dart off to the United Club to clean up before boarding my final flight of the weekend, United 821 back to Los Angeles.
As this second UA 821, HKG-LAX, was my final flight of the mileage run... well, I basically decided to sleep. Woke up in time for pre-arrival, which was the usual shrimp congee (not too bad, but not as good as yesterday's UA 821 from HNL), and to a beautiful sunset on arrival in Los Angeles.
