Mongolia
Was not planning on going back to Mongolia so soon, especially not right after my 2,000,000th mile on United, but due to some unexpected schedule changes, things sort of worked out in the end. Was also hoping to actually see some of Mongolia if I went back, but due to some even more unexpected schedule changes, well, that didn't happen either.
Still cannot complain how things worked out in the end. Got to celebrate my 2MM flight on United with a bunch of frequent flier friends who are all as enthusiastic, if not even more enthusiastic, about flying than I am, then got combine it with another visit to Mongolia, complete with dinner with Ambassador Richard Buangan, United States' ambassador to Mongolia, which meant two memorable experiences in one trip.
Days 1 and 2: my 2,000,000th mile on United Airlines flight 805, SFO-ICN, with a bunch of fellow frequent fliers.
Day 3, part 1: connecting via Seoul (ICN) to Ulaanbaatar (UBN) via Korean Air, plus a bit of exploring before dinner.
Day 3, part 2: dinner with Ambassador Richard Buangan, US Ambassador to Mongolia. Special thanks to Fazal for setting this up.
Day 4: early morning return to Tokyo Narita and then back home.
