Pasadena fooding
Artisanal Goods by CAR is one of many excellent places for croissants in the Los Angeles area, and an excellent choice by Christina and Stanley. Still a line, but it's manageable, and the turkey ham and gruyere was a delicious savory one to share, along with the almond (sweet). Tried to get Venezuelan food after for actual brunch, but they were closed due to Easter Sunday, so ended up at bbad for breakfast burritos instead.
bbad is inside the Pasadena Hotel, which is a delightful historic venue, and their patio was a charming place to eat some bacon and egg burritos (mushroom chorizo for Rebecca) that were heavy into bacon and egg-- no excuses there for the lack of filler materials. There was noise of a visit to Odd One Out after, but I was pretty loaded on caffeine already, so politely declined.
Wrapped up the day with a mattress run at the Sheraton Gateway LAX, with my super random meal of leftovers at their 15th floor executive lounge. Could have been great views, but due to dirty windows, was just okay-- still fun to see all the airplanes tho, especially a small fleet of United 787 Dreamliners near their huge maintenance hangar. Throw in a nice room upgrade and it was a fun and affordable place for the night.
