Ten No Meshi
Not sure how I feel about waygu A5 katsu, but was fun to try it at Ten No Meshi's new Sawtelle location. Also not sure about how I feel about Sushi Tsujita having to shut down and Ten No Meshi going into their space with relatively few changes (still sad Sushi Tsujita is closed!), but the waygu katsu was an interesting meal. Such marbled beef doesn't have quite the same texture as the pork usually used, so you get a distinctly different mouth feel and texture. Still good, but maybe need to try the traditional pork katsu next time. All guests being presented with a tempura scallop (or at least many guests) is fun as well, with tons of ceremony there.
All in all, a worthy addition to Sawtelle, although not sure how often I'll go.
