Yumiyaki
Having not been back to Yumiyaki in a year, figured Emily visiting would be a good excuse to go again. The menu hasn't changed too much (MASAMI ribeye removed, Full blood M9+ shoulder cut replacing it), the service has gotten a bit rougher, probably due to some new staff, and the food is still delicious.
All the seafood items are very good, sashimi, carpaccio (salmon and yellowtail alike), hand rolls, and the special items from the diamond menu... although to be fair, if your goal is to focus on the waygu, not eating as much of those is entirely reasonable. Or you could do like we did and just order tons of both, and waddle out of there after massive amounts of deliciousness. Like the previous visit, the A5 waygu items are definitely the way to go for the beef; ribeye is limited to one per person, but the A5 waygu chuck ribeye (chuck roll, let's be real) and A5 waygu brisket are both nearly as good, and well worth ordering repeatedly.
Service inconsistencies this trip don't actually detract from my final rating, of all the Chubby Group brands/restaurants, I think if you're willing to spend a little for the quality, Yumiyaki remains my top for value for the money, and maybe overall as well.
