Fooding
Tons of random photos. Crazy long line at Target in Westwood for reasons I was not able to decipher, followed by lunch at Bruin Bowl Malatang - always solid, so long as you don't overload your bowl full of food and end up waddling like a whale back to the office.
Wandered down to Santa Monica later, Boba Tea and Me is extremely ordinary for milk tea, but they were a quiet place to do work til all the students showed up at 3:00pm as school let out for the day. Ikon Pass Stoke event was later that afternoon at the Burton Flagship Store in Santa Monica. Fun to see what vendors show up, but Ikon Pass doesn't pitch much at all at these events, so aside from the raffle and maybe the CMH VR experience, not too much to see. They catered Wahoo's burritos so there was food, and both Red Bull and 805 for liquids, caffeine and beer respectively. A few people brought their dogs as well, which was always a nice touch.
Dinner at Joe's Pizza in Palms the next day. Rather average, which was disappointing, but they had fast service, and it was nice they did slices even in the evening.
Finally, weekend board games and fooding. The Corner Place for Korean BBQ and cold noodles is always good, although it's best to go right when they open to get parking, otherwise it's rough. The beef tongue a la carte is price, but you can get a two-meat set or whatnot that makes it pretty reasonable. Stagger Coffee a few blocks away is a very popular and hip coffee place, then it was time for board games the rest of the afternoon.
Quacks of Quedlinburg is always fun, so is Flip 7, and we also did some Sea Salt and Paper. All regular games in our rotation, and we played til we got hungry again. Ye Olde Kings Head in Santa Monica is a bar/restaurant/pub, the restaurant isn't too loud, the pub is hoppin', and the food is, well, very British. Never going to win awards, but not too bad. Sue, Ophelia, Chau, and Jake loved the sticky toffee pudding as well.
