Laos
Did some exploring of Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 before heading home this morning; a few shops have closed and I couldn't find postcards (nor anywhere to buy stamps), although a brief search suggested that some of the convenience stores sold the latter. Might have to look harder next time?
Straits Food Court in Terminal 2 is not the deal that the staff canteens are, but as it's in the transit area, it's more convenient to the gates, and the Tai Hwa Pork Noodle stall is much like the original (if not quite as tasty), with annoying slow service that is made up for with the quality of the food. It's right next to shopping as well, so convenient to stock up for snacks for the flight home.
Had a solid crew for the flight home, a rather unremarkable meal in Premium Plus (premium economy), aka upgrade fail-- like the flight to Singapore a few days ago, today's flight was nearly full, but this time even more full in Polaris (business class), to the point that this mere plebe had no chance at all of an upgrade. The flight was a bit delayed due to maintenance issues, but had just enough time to make my connection back to LAX.
An overall smooth and uneventful return, topped off by running off to the office as soon as I got in, then some last-minute Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping after the work day. And to make up for all the airplane and airport food of the trip, had to grab a McRib, enhanced into a McRugget, for after-shopping dinner.
