Flying on Thanksgiving Day is generally a pretty pleasant experience, especially compared to the insanity that is the day before (aka: the busiest travel day of the year). Upgrade went through, warm nuts and pretzels were stable, the appetizer was terrible, the shrimp with fried rice was very ordinary but pretty edible. Definitely no Thanksgiving turkey here. Mid-flight snacks of gnocchi and chicken/mushroom/rice were both awful, the former was devoid of flavor and texture, the latter might have been acceptable had it not spent too long in the oven.
Aka note to self: maybe don't trust fellow frequent fliers for their food opinions, especially the gnocchi, which remains nearly flavorless after multiple tries over the past few months.
Pre-arrival meal was ground beef congee, quite weird to have ground beef in congee. At least the flight was mostly smooth, Jewel Changi is always packed with tourists, and the Star Wars Library pop-up in Terminal 3 is fun but a bit small. With such a short layover, opted to stay at the Crowne Plaza (also in Terminal 3), which has spacious rooms, in-room filtered water, and is overall rather convenient for short layovers.
