The Corner Place
Pre-race bib pickup for tomorrow's Santa Monica Classic in its usual place on Santa Monica Third Street Promenade. Race ended up sold out, the line for packet pickup moved fast, actually a better experience than some other races. Went for lunch at Mikomi Sushi afterwards, housed in the old P.F. Chang's space. It was pretty utility, not fancy, but for a basic sashimi order it was well-presented, and the fish was fresh enough.
Had been years since going to The Corner Place for mul-naengmyeon (Korean cold noodles), turns out those are still delicious. However, they also do Korean BBQ, and Sue went to town on that as well, which was most unexpected. Ended up with a massive amount of food, including many plates of very, very good beef tongue (nom!). Inside is a bit old school, service is too, parking lot is a little small and quite busy (expect to street park, especially if you have a larger car).
Wrapped up the day with Michelle's birthday. Had planned to do cake at The Corner Place, but decided the remains of a kbbq meal were not ideal for a delicious Porto's cake. Happy Birthday Michelle!
