After a long and busy week, was nice to wake up and have nothing to do other than eat, sleep, and enjoy the lovely complimentary upgrade that the Kaohsiung Marriott gave me. Could have done more for lunch, but with Costco and a shopping mall both next door to the hotel, ended up at the E-Sky Mall food court next door, for milk tea from Cozy Tea Loft, decent dan tat from Saison du Soleil, and a passable dry pot; the last would have been very good if they weren't so skimpy with the pork intestine.
Soaked in the view from the hotel most of the afternoon, then realized I had dithered too long over where to go for dinner and all the places I wanted to go were going to be closed (or closed not long after my arrival). Ended up back at Ruifeng Night Market instead, which to be fair worked out, as I'd only been able to try a fraction of the places I wanted to the night before. Angel Fried Chicken does a massive and tasty fried chicken cutlet, Rui Feng Shanghai Dumplings does a solid pan-fried xiao long bao, and a pork belly place ended up being so-so. I think I missed at least one other place on my list on my walk through, but after doubling back a few times, I couldn't find it (nor could I remember the name), so that was all good.
The walk to and from night market that evening was hot and humid, but not nearly as bad during the day, so at least that was a plus?
