Singapore/New York
Breakfast at the Westin Singapore's executive lounge was pretty average, a quick cab ride to the airport, and then a slightly delayed departure back to San Francisco, due to a late inbound aircraft. This delay unfortunately had some knock-on effects to my routing to New York, but a few hundred bucks later, United switched me from a two-stop routing with a now-impossible connection to a one-stop routing (aka: perils of separate bookings). Irony was United flight 2, my return, actually had much better than expected winds and arrived at SFO on-time, which meant I could have kept my original two-stop routing. *sigh*
That said, with Newark International Airport being a hot mess lately, skipping a connection to get in earlier seemed like it was worth the extra money. Although even with a 777-300ER for my SFO-EWR leg, there were still two delays due to ATC (totalling two hours) and then a third delay to change a tire that had a nail in it, leading to a significantly delayed arrival. About the only benefit of the delayed arrival was easy access to the Newark Airport Marriott.
