Hong Kong
Not much for sunrises or sunsets on this trip-- but at least took advantage of the hotel breakfast one last time. Debated going out to a cha chaan teng instead, but United flight 153 left juuuust early enough that actually going out for breakfast would have been tough. Even making the hotel breakfast required taking a taxi instead of mass transit back to the airport, although I wasn't complaining-- because the ride to the airport goes over some cool bridges and a lovely bit of coastline.
N27965 was fresh from maintenance at XMN, so had a smooth ride home (as expected!). Did not have time to linger much at the airport, although the food court just past security and immigration looks to be even more bustling than it was in the past-- so might have to head to the airport a bit earlier the next time to check it out?
Food on the return was about the same or a little better than a few days earlier; the crew actually cooked the chicken and noodles properly (yay!), and the old, higher-quality mixed nuts was present (woot!). A strong jet stream meant just hitting 700mph ground speed on the return off the coast of Japan as well. Service, while good, was not quite as good as the flight over (my mattress pad never arrived, and browsing the overhead bins I didn't see any...). Still, was a nice quick trip to Hong Kong. Maybe next time Gerald will finally lead his group of crazy friends over on the next trip?
