Finally hit up the local Mighty-O Donuts after today's run. Guess there was a reason why I had not bothered til now, they were disappointing. The glazed raised twist in particular was much too dense, and the chocolate peanut butter was not interesting. The mini-sprinkles was quite good tho, maybe next time I will just grab a half-dozen of those rather than two regular donuts?
After day two of eXit Space dance recitals, was off to dinner with Kristen, Coco, and Alicia. Coco was very excited not only for the recital but for dinner, and while she couldn't have any of the Harry Potter-themed drinks, she was clearly still amazed by what Bai Tong Thai Street Cafe did (especially the boozy butterbeer!). The food itself was pretty good, although the chicken pad thai had just a tad too much sauce. The BBQ pork/roast pork and rice combo was entirely average with a sweet and sour sauce that was more sweet than anything else, but the meal was still pretty enjoyable, especially with a robot waiter helping out the humans.
Cinnaholic was on the way back to the car, and they smelled amazing, so we stopped in. Like the vegan donuts I had that afternoon, they were a bit heavy and not particularly interesting or tasty. Vegan vanilla frosting is not a substitute for cream cheese either; but in the case of a cinnamon roll, these actually did hit the spot, unlike the donuts.
Final stop was ComeBuyTEA, which was also on the way back to where we parked. Their fancy tea brewing machines drew me in, even if the rest was just okay. The taro latte tasted a tad artificial, but that might also have been fault of the waffle, which was an ordinary waffle and not an egg waffle. Still kind of hit the spot, maybe next time will try them when it's not nearly freezing outside?
