Supercomputing 24 (SC24)
Sessions (panels, birds of a feather, papers, etc.) continued today. Bunch of ARM and RISC-V stuff of varying levels of interest. HPE did a nice talk on their optimized version of ethernet, HPE Slingshot, including tagging and some of the added features. The HPC interest groups (ACM SIGHPC, IEEE TCPP, IEEE TCHPC, SIAG/CSE, SIAG/SC) all did a joint birds of a feather session as well...
Brunch was at The Food Shoppe, which apparently does a bang-up omelet, but the lady got my order completely wrong. Instead of the jambalaya bowl I ordered, she punched in a chicken mac and cheese bowl, which might have been good but was absolutely not what I was feeling. Dinner was thwarted by my failure to go to the exhibit hall as well; turns out almost all the big vendors used today (Wednesday) as their private party night, which meant if you had bothered to talk to the vendors before tonight, you could get into one of the private parties. This meant just about every restaurant next to the Georgia World Congress Center was booked. Oops. Rock's Chicken and Fries was the nearest place not booked, and they were sadly quite mediocre.
