Singapore
Quick weekend mileage run to Singapore. Evening departure from LAX meant some great light at the United Club over a 737 MAX 9, time to kill at SFO including a sad meal at the food court in Terminal 3, and then 16+ hours (not quite 15.5 hours flight time, 8,558 miles estimated, 8,874 miles (actual per Flightaware) in the exit row to Singapore. If you have to fly economy, the exit row is definitely the way to go for such a long flight, and yes, United's obsessions with grain salads in economy remains even more disgusting than the rest of the meal.
At least one of the flight attendants onboard knew the infamous Carl, and when I said I was one of Carl's friends, she took pity on me halfway through the flight and brought me some of the tapas they serve in Polaris. Polaris food may not be great but they actually resemble what food is supposed to be, which is a massive step up from what United serves in economy.
