Interstellar
Brunch at Interstellar off Third Street Promenade was okay-- chilaquiles were quite serviceable, if anything almost too clean/hippie to reach the peak amount of tastiness expected. They are a surprisingly small-but-not-too-small space, ample greenery, and a decent if slightly worn feel for such a new restaurant. Enjoyable enough but hard to say I would go back unless I was already in the area.
Dinner with 4M at Wurstkuche many hours later, their exotic game sausages remain pretty good, if not actually all that much better than the more normal ones. The fries are always excellent, and now that 4M is half small children, being able to draw on the butch paper tablecloths is a major plus. Wanderlust Creamery being right next door doesn't hurt either-- and this particular location actually has ample seating, so you can eat your ice cream right there before it melts.
