Iki Ramen
Hangin' out with Dr. Bauch over ramen and sushi at Iki Ramen in k-town. A bit small inside, the usual light wood and contemporary Japanese vibe, a constantly packed parking lot, and more than busy enough inside. Managed to arrive a few minutes before 7:00pm when a few parties were cleaning out, by the time Nick showed up ten minutes later all those empty tables were full again (!).
Iki roll (basically a fancy spicy tuna roll) stole the show for Dr. Bauch, he said the truffle oil in the mentaiko mazemen was a bit too strong. The waygu A5 ramen for me was pretty good, but the main show was the three large, very thin slices of waygu... the ramen itself and the broth were quite good but after you eat the waygu (which you have to do quickly, as it's served raw like rare beef in pho), well, the appeal goes down considerably.
