Catching up with Maria and family over dim sum at Tim Ho Wan. The United States-based branches of the popular Hong Kong chain don't hold up to the standards of their namesake, but was still great to catch up!
Said farewell to Sam after lunch, then got in a bit more sightseeing around before leaving. Took some more fun photos with the 10-20mm but overall am not sure it's worth buying, even though it's lighter and more compact that the 15-35mm. To be fair I can imagine many photographers who would love it (and it was fun!) but not enough to justify owning. Final stop before heading to the airport was Liberty Bagels; almost did Ess-A-Bagel but was a bit tight on time and Liberty Bagels was more convenient. Unexpectedly walked by the Apple Store as well, then somewhere in there had a horrible wait for the Newark Airport Express bus that was bad enough that I hopped in a taxi with three other random passengers stuck in the same line to get to the airport instead.
Sushi at Kaedema, inside the Global Food Bazaar, remains pretty indifferent, but it was quick and close to the gate. Decided last minute to apply for an upgrade on the flight home, which cleared just before take-off, since it seemed like a reasonable final opportunity to use the Canon RF 10-20mm/f4L IS one last time. And as badly dated as the old 2-4-2 across business class is, 10mm seemed like a way to get a fresh perspective on it.
Last benefit of being upgraded to business class was getting fed something that resembles actual food, and in this case, the cobb salad with chicken and bacon was not bad. Not as good as the last time I'd had the same meal, but it at least had some green leafy veggies with a non-zero nutritional value?
