Cleveland
Redeye to Cleveland complete with an earlier-than-expected arrival meant an extended bit of time to chill at The Club at the airport. Their breakfast isn't anything crazy, but sure beat sitting in the terminal trying to stay awake. And with so many major events in Cleveland today and tomorrow (NCAA womens' basketball championship, total solar eclipse, Guardians vs. White Sox home game, and two more I forget), no wonder why all the hotels were packed too. The Residence Inn Cleveland Downtown is a worn-out heap but it's right across from the stadium; if you ever have the misfortune to stay here, at least make sure to park two lots further east where it's only $20 overnight instead of $45.
Met up with Erik and Elayne at Guanaquitas 2 for a solid Salvadorian mean, then took Elayne back home and then took Ty out for a nice long walk, so Erik and I could scout photography locations for tomorrow's total solar eclipse. Dawn and her friends stayed home and played a few rounds of Legendary, one of their favorite Marvel-themed board games, while Erik and I wandered around the neighborhood.
Dinner was at Kintaro, an all you can eat hot pot and sushi place. The whole group stuck to sushi, which was pretty average for AYCE sushi, but the important part was being able to hang out and keep everyone fed. *grins* (hot pot was indeed tempting...)
