Bora Bora
Did some relaxing, watched a turtle swim by directly under the villa, and had a late dinner at Lagoon by Jean Georges (protip: as soon as you book your stay here, talk to them about restaurant reservations, less you get stuck eating at Lagoon at 8:00pm like we did).
Like everything else here it was overpriced and not worth it. We at least skipped the overpriced set menu and went a la carte, which was a much better value. The amuse bouche was a mixed bag, not terribly memorable, while Tiff's grilled mahi mahi was a bit too much like all the other fish. Shrimps-rosemary, like the lagoon fish, had a fun tableside presentation but honestly seemed like a gimmick. The tomato-watermelon appetizer at least tried harder than the thazard-coriander. The final disappointment was Tiff's requested substitution of rice for more veggies resulting in a side order of truffle mashed potatoes instead of, you know, veggies.
