Los Angeles Marathon Expo
Pre-race expo at Dodger Stadium for the Los Angeles Marathon with Patrick and Colin. Every year they seem to hash it up some way, and this year was no exception. Last year's expo, all the repeat (LA Loyal Runners) had their own bib pickup area... this year, only the unseeded (open corral) LA Loyal Runners had their own bib pickup area, and it was massive. All the rest of us repeat runners? Shoved in to the main corral pickup lines, which sucked. Merch pickup for LA Loyal was similarly mis-sized (too small) as well.
The expo itself was busy, with massive lines for official race merchandise and a few booths like Big 5. Explored a bit then headed out before Colin got cranky, with the next stop being some very good Mexican food for lunch at Chichen Itza. Frances and Patrick used to frequent the place, and along with Holbox in the same food court, it is a very tasty stop.
Later in the day, dinner at Killer Noodle was the last stop. They seem to have simplified the menu or something lately, and the interior is definitely feeling a bit worn. The pork belly buns are not elegant but the char siu slices used are massive. And if you go for the soup noodle version (instead of dry noodle) the portions are still ample, just make sure to come early to beat the lines.
