Salt Lake City
The 7am return flight didn't seem too early when I booked it, but the getting outside in 19F temperatures just past 5:00am was definitely not fun. Still, clear roads to the airport, a quick fill-up at the on-airport Chevron, and a very efficient oversized check baggage drop (hooray for being a frequent flier!) were great. Not so great was a 30 minute delay on takeoff for a maintenance issue, but wasn't a big deal in the end, and had a safe but very uncomfortable flight back home. (pity the poor dog with an idiot owner, who was barking and whining the entire flight).
Next stop after getting back to Los Angeles was breakfast at the a.m. smash pop-up. They operate infrequently enough that actually catching them open requires a bit of planning, but their "e;Big Mac" double patty sandwich is pretty good. English muffin, mayo, avocado, cheese, egg, and two Nieman Ranch pork sausage patties that actually aren't too salty; verdict is not bad at all, actually a damned good breakfast sandwich, although in all honesty, not sure I'd travel too too far for it either.
