Nearly 12 hour delay for United flight 29 meant a very unusual departure from gate F11, Terminal 3.

Had a delayed flight to SFO that lead to me running to catch my connection to Singapore... which then ended up being delayed by nearly 12 hours due to mechanical issues. At least I got a quick run in?

United's Polaris Lounge at SFO isn't the worst place to spend all day, and they have the salon now open to normal Polaris passengers, including a somewhat intermittently-stocked hot chocolate bar. Finally off the ground nearly 12 hours later with a scratch crew, which ran the flight admirably well despite their relative youth. Food on United remains unremarkable at best, and I accidentially slept through the mid-flight tapas service. The macaroons were best described as forgettable as well.<

At least I got in some solid sleep on the 17 hour 5 minute long, 9,207 mile (actual, 8,446 miles direct) flight, and the arrival in Singapore was beautiful.
