Days 0 and 1: Flying
Day 2: Sushi Kimura
Day 3: Jumbo Seafood
Day 4: Odette
Day 5: Hawker centres
Day 6: Return
Singapore
One last trip for the year, aka: back to Singapore, this time for a bit of an extended stay to check out the Christmas festivities at Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands. Also decided to finally drag my butt to the as-of-this-writing #14 best restaurant in the world, the Michelin 3* Odette, plus a very popular Michelin 1*, Sushi Kimura.
Days 0 and 1: another massive delay due to yet another broken airplane on United leading to completely missing a day in Singapore, but at least the Polaris Lounge at SFO is a nice place to spend 12 hours?
Day 2: morning arrival in Singapore leads to the classic kaya toast breakfast at YY Kafei Dian, bak kut teh at Song Fa, and of course, dinner at Sushi Kimura. Plus plenty of wandering in-between, including the Merlion and the Fullerton Hotel.
Day 3: rainy day meant a walk though Parliament before a lunch of chili crab at Jumbo Seafood, then the obligatory mall-crawling.
Day 4: starting the day with a four hour long dining experience at Odette, including dessert personally graced by Chef Julien Royer. Managed to skip the worst of the rain, a nighttime visit to Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay before cocktails at the Raffles Hotel.
Day 5: Hawker stalls including Hong Lim Food Centre and Maxwell Food Centre, a stop at the former Michelin 1* Hawker Chan, then nighttime back across the Helix Bridge to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and their Christmas display.
Day 6: Return via a flight that was finally, amazingly, on-time.
