Did the complimentary guided morning walk provided by the hotel; was nice to have a guide but not all that necessary for such a short hike. Had more fog all morning, which meant the original plan of a helicopter ride was postponed. Instead the next activity was Macuco Safari's very wet board ride, where they take crowds of tourists out on speedboats and literally go under a (small) section of Iguazu Falls.
It's... not hard to put into words, but it's hard to express just how intense of an experience it is. They drive you into a waterfall off San Martin Island not once but twice, and you are so close with so much water in the area that it's hard to breathe. Many cower under their plastic ponchos, while the rest of us accept the full experience, cameras and phones and GoPros and clothes all throughly soaked twice-over. Many scream like a rollercoaster ride because it's equal or perhaps even more intense. Well worth it-- just make sure to leave your shoes on the dock less they be soaked the rest of the day and into the next.
In full disclosure the weather was surprisingly mild on this trip, mid-70s the first two days, mid-80s the third day, and only into the 90s the day I was leaving. Friends who have been in the summer, where temperatures can exceed 100F, have said the boat ride was extremely refreshing!
