Brazil
Decided to tick Brazil off the list with a trip to Iguazu Falls, and decided to take the time to see things properly from both the Argentina side along with a trip juuuust over the border to Paraguay to cross off two new countries off my list instead of one.
Day 1: fluffy clouds and randomly meeting up with one of United Airlines' top fliers on the way to Brazil.
Day 2: early morning connection in Sao Paolo to Foz do Iguacu, then to the hotel and its claim to fame, a direct view of Iguazu Falls as soon as you pull in.
Day 3: morning stroll alongside Iguazu Falls, then straight into a section of the waterfall with Macuco Safari.
Day 4: Parque Nacional Iguazu, aka the Argentina side, is a solid 4 or 5 hour experience plus the driving time from the Brazilian side, and well worth the time. Helisul for their very afforable 10 minute shared helicopter ride of Iguazu Falls on the way back for the incredible aerial views.
Day 5: Itaipu Dam (Itaipu Binacional) is one of the largest hydroelectric powerplants in the world and well worth a visit. Parque das Aves (bird sanctuary) in the afternoon, then back to Iguazu Falls for one last sunset.
Day 6: sunrise over the Hotel Das Cataratas, then the beginning of the long day to get home.
Day 7: morning arrival in the USA.
