Fooding
The har gow at NBC Seafood were unusually well crafted today, with translucent skins and about the right number of folds. Filling was only okay but hard to complain too much. Rest of the food was solid at best, no complaints aside from the won-ton-skin-style deep fried shrimp ball, which were distinctly inferior to the better shrimp ball that comes on a sugarcane stick.
Usual stop at Half and Half for milk tea, which is always good-- and their summer promotion, a free upsize to large, is still going (woohoo!). Played some board games after, Project L was Tetris-inspired and seemingly light, but had an unexpected bit of strategy and focus near the end. Quacks of Quedlinburg is always fun, and then we had a third game whose name I can't remember for the life of me that wasn't bad.
Dinner at Lonzo's Restaurant and Bakery. Peruvian food here is uneven, the appetizers, including fisherman's ceviche and the beef heart, are all excellent. The entrees were all varying levels of disappointing, with an overly salty sauce in the lomo saltado to the so-so arroz con mariscos. The branzino was just not very interesting. Great start but disappointing ending.
