We Roll Nori
The little restaurant right across the street from UCLA's main entrance at Le Conte/Westwood (the southern entrance) might finally have a successful business in it-- We Roll Nori just opened this month and looks to have a solid stream of customers. Did not try their extensive onigiri collection, but their largest handroll set (7) was pretty good. Nothing outstanding or even all that above average, but to see a solid option emerge in this location is a delight.
Consider the smaller sets to be optimal, by the time I got to the 6th and 7th hand roll the rice and seaweed had gotten a bit soggy, and really, some of the items-- scallop, spicy tuna, and unagi, were all pretty forgettable. Tuna sashimi similarly was not very interesting. But they were very fast with service and coming back for the hamachi (yellowtail), blue crab, and maybe the salmon hand rolls has potential?
After eating all that rice, had to justify it by giving blood a few hours later...
