Frosty Chalet in Lone Pine.

Old school.

Menu. Cash only.

French fries were okay.

Double burger and fries.

Better than chain fast food but not so much that you'd make a special stop here.

Dog loves grass.

Chocolate dipped soft serve.

Soft serve with sprinkles.

Brussel sprouts caesar salad is actually pretty good.

Skiing in July?? With this season's record-setting snowfall, why not? Stopped by Frosty Chalet in Lone Pine on the way up for a late lunch... it's better than a chain fast food burger but still basically a fast food burger, and soft serve ice cream (regular, with sprinkles, or chocolate dipped) is always fun. A somewhat shaded patio outside with picnic benches makes the heat tolerable, and the whole experience is pleasantly rustic.

Evening arrival at our usual digs, the Westin Monache in Mammoth, then over to Mammoth Brewing, where their seasonal beer flight was better than the last visit, and their kitchen is still very slow. Brussel sprouts caesar salad is pretty genius, tho.
