Back to Little Dynamite for lunch. Their Hot Jimmy didn't quite do it for me-- ricotta rarely does on a pizza-- and neither did the pepperoni. Some days the thick crust works, other days I feel like it needs a ton of pepperoni to go with it, and today felt distinctly short on pepperoni.
Finally stopped by Arts' Pastrami off Sepulveda in Westchester. The #4 H"El Basico" is a good example of a run down corner stand pastrami, but loaded up with double meat (extra $6?) something about it hits just right. Given the cost, I mean, going to Langers' for a much more refined pastrami really is the way to go-- or even the slightly higher quality-still-kind-of-worn-in Johnnie's Pastrami up the road-- but still, Arts' Pastrami seems to have its place.
