Hershey Hall for Interim Dean of Social Sciences Abel Valenzuela's all-staff lunch, then off to Assistant Professor Yang Zhang's graduate class's 3D/VR demo day. Great to both see fellow Social Sciences staff and spend some time with Dean Valenzuela, including hearing his honest priorities (staff are not number 1, but number 3 isn't bad) and efforts with the division.

Professor Zhang's graduate students apparently had less of a background in 3D/VR environments than I thought, maybe 4 weeks out of 10 weeks in the quarter, and not necessarily any experience as undergrads. Quite enthralling to see their development process and the results (however varying!) they came up with, including some of the on-the-fly tweaking.
