A family friend went to OC and Lau and raved about their hot pot... so had to go-- especially after finding out Mara and Chau go regularly.

As one of the better known Vietnamese seafood places, the various escargot, calamari, clams, shrimp, and oyster dishes are all very good to excellent. Scallops too. House special claypot fried rice is a little intense but gotta enjoy the crispy bottom. And it turns out Mara and Chau rarely order the hot pot, but as Elaine' experience confirmed, it was delicious. Not sure if sea bass was a necessary splurge but at that point it didn't matter, we all happily nom'ed away!

Turns out Sweethoney Dessert is next door. They've got a few locations but this one was nearly empty, and both the mango puffs and the various mango ice/mango ice cream/grass jelly/pomelo things were all pretty solid. I think everyone rolled home...
